Secure our Hospital Expansion

Obtain clear reaffirmation from the Provincial Government of its commitment to Burnaby’s hospital expansion.

Healthcare in Our Neighbourhoods

Healthcare is our safety net—and access to care should be close to home.

Advocate for healthcare-friendly neighbourhood planning and zoning, making it easier to bring primary care; clinics, mental-health services, and other community health supports into our neighbourhoods.

Municipalities have a role to play in creating the space for healthcare in sync with a growing city. By working with healthcare providers and advocating to the Provincial Government so we can make healthcare more accessible and build healthier, stronger communities.

Let’s plan for healthcare where people live.

Equitable Transportation Networks
Transit | Cycling/Walking | Driving

Build a better-connected Burnaby by improving the transit, cycling/walking and road transportation networks:

work with TransLink to expand transit service, improve north-south connections, and increase service frequency
add continuous walking and cycling paths and providing residents with more options to get around by foot and bicycles
Improve north–south road connections to make it easier for residents to travel between Burnaby neighbourhoods, local destinations, and Town Centres

Build a 15-minute Burnaby where all essential daily needs can be reached with a 15 minute walk or bike ride from home.

Residents deserve reliable, frequent, and accessible public transportation that keeps pace with our growing community.

Build strong and connected communities and neighbourhoods to create a vibrant secure environment.

Safer streets and cycle paths:

Better lighting, crosswalks, widening sidewalks, speed-limit signage and traffic calming in residential areas and schools

Safer neighbourhoods:

Build connections - work with police, residents and businesses to address local concerns

Safer public spaces:

Keep clean and well-maintained

Advocate for zoning and thoughtful development to complement each unique neighbourhood

Pressure the province to return the decision-making back to Burnaby. The municipality is best to create a mix of housing that is affordable and thoughtfully zoned in each neighbourhood. No more multi-units in the middle of neighbourhoods

Ensure future developments follow "no one gets left behind" - no displacement of residents

Work with developers on affordability to create a mix of market and below market housing

Protect Burnaby’s existing green spaces

Expand parks and tree canopy in underserved neighbourhoods to reduce extreme heat, improve air quality, and manage stormwater runoff

Strengthen food security by protecting agricultural and arable lands from densification pressures through stricter municipal zoning and land-use controls, ensuring that productive farmland remains available for local food production and future agricultural needs
